Parents – Save the Date: You’re invited to a parent meeting on August 27th after our worship service. Plan on attending if you can as I will give you an overview of the next year and other pertinent information. New Outing Consent Forms for the year will also be available for you to fill out then. More details to come as we get closer to that date. Thanks!
Are you a High School guy who wants to grow in faith this summer? Come join us at Cornerstone for pizza, pop, and the studying of God’s Word every Sunday* beginning this Sunday, June 11th from 11:45am-12:45pm. Please bring a dollar to help cover the cost of food. Look forward to seeing you there!
*We will not meet over Father’s Day weekend.
Every Friday, from 11:30 to 1:30pm, I will announce a different place where students can come and hang out at a local fast food restaurant, grab some lunch, and stay connected with their friends. This will begin June 2nd and continue through the summer, so long as there is continued interest. Look to the Facebook page for where we’ll be meeting each Friday. Today, we will be at Culver’s in Sioux Center. Hope to see you there!
This month, we’ll be in our series called, “LIFE.” We’re all familiar with the game of LIFE. You begin the game single and along the way you may get married, have kids, pay taxes…oh wait, that’s a lot like real life too! Join us starting February 12th as we look at what the Bible says about singleness, dating, and marriage.
After our Christmas party, we will have our annual Caroling and Soup Supper Night! The night will be complete with caroling and various soups to try. Each small group will be responsible for making soup and the winning group will receive a prize—and bragging rights, of course!
As we wrap up the year, our Christmas party is just around the corner! We will have a white elephant gift exchange, an ugly Christmas sweater contest, fun games, food, and prizes! For those unfamiliar with what a white elephant gift is, it’s something that is weird, interesting, fun, not particularly valuable, something odd that you’re looking to get rid of from around the house, etc. If you are looking to buy something, I’ve found thrift stores are a good place to go. The only stipulations are if you purchase an item, it should be under $5 and be appropriate. Items can be weird, but please be sure they are appropriate. In short, each student should bring an ugly Christmas sweater, a white elephant gift, and a dessert to share with the group. Hope to see you there!
